THE POLL BLUDGER KALLANGUR
Kallangur was created when the Wayne Goss government's one-vote one-value legislation increased the number of metropolitan electorates at the 1992 election. It has been held at all times by Labor's Ken Hawyard, who survived relatively close shaves when the 1995 backlash against the Goss government reduced his margin to 4.0 per cent and when One Nation overtook the Liberals in 1998 and came within 3.9 per cent of defeating him with their preferences.
